(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. “We in New Zealand eat too much sugar,” Mr Nash told the Wellington branch of the United Nations Association. “There is too much used for beer, among other things. But beer is not so strong as it was, nor has it the food value it had.” Other things listed by Mr Nash were lollies and sugar in children’s mouths. Quoting 1934-38 figures, he said Denmark then used 1221bs of sugar per head, New Zealand 1131 b and China 41b. The figure for the Dominion was higher now, he said.
