REDUCED PRICES DIRECTED IN GREY PROPERTY SALES

A large proportion of the applications before the Westland Land Sales Committee which sat at Hokitika yesterday morning, were adjourned for valuation while a few were adjourned for hearing next week. The committee directed that substantial reductions be made in the price sought for two Cobden sections by E. E. Batty. In both cases, £lBO was asked for, but the committee gave its approval subject to a reduction to £95, in respect of the sale to A. Roberts, and to £92 in respect of that to E. McDonald. The only other application on which the committee reached a decision was that of M. Boddy to sell a property in Palmerston street, Greymouth, to J. Shadbolt, for £llOO, and the transaction was approved, subject to a reduction to £lO2O. ,
