TABLE TENNIS LOCAL TEAMS WIN IN ALL SECTIONS AT WEEK-END TOURNEY

Winning 58-out of 98 games, Greymouth won a triangular inter-district table tennis tournament played at Greymouth on Saturday. Westport which was runner-up won 22 games and Hokitika was third with 18. Greymouth won all sections, the scores being as follows:—Men’s singles: Greymouth 15, Westport 3, Hokitika G. Women's singles: Greymouth 14, Westport 9, Hokitika 3. Men’s doubles: Greyrnouth 8, Westport 2, Hokitika 2. Women’s doubles: Greymouth 7, Westport 3, Hokitika 2. Mixed doubles: Greymouth 14, Westport. 5, Hokitika 5. September 20 has been fixed as the date for the Wtst Coast championships which will be held at Westport this year, this decision being reached at the annual meeting of the West Coast Table Tennis Association following the tournament on Saturday. The following officers were elected: — President, M, T. Keown (Hokitika); vice-president, Mr L. Martin (Westport); secretary, Mr B. O’Donnell (Greymouth); trustees, Messrs T. Keown and B. O’Donnell, delegates to the West Coast Association: Hokitika, Messrs G. Groufsky and T. Keown; Greymouth, Messrs J. Baddeley and B. O’Donnell; Westport, Messrs L. Martin and N. Ames. An invitation by South Canterbury to a representative match was accepted. _______________
