The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: An anti-cyclone is advancing on to New Zealand from the west. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Moderate south-east winds predominating; weather fine with cold night and moderate day temperatures. Further outlook:. Fair to fine. LOCAL RECORDINGS 9 a.m.—Barometer, 30.00 inches (1016 millibars); thermometer, 56; wind, north-east (fresh breeze); sky, cloudy; bar, considerable swell; rainfall, 0.27 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 10,66 inches.)
The depth on the bar at high water today was 21ft Ilin.
