OBITUARY Mr James D. Hearn

The death of Mr James Duncan Hearn, of South Beach, a wellknown former timber worker, occurred this morning after a lengthy illness. He was aged 77 years. Born at Arthurstown, Hokitika, Mr Hearn had spent the greater part of his life in the sawmilling industry working at many mills. He was the proprietor of the Kumara Junction Hotel about 15 years ago. For the past nine years he had resided at South Beach. He is survived by his wife, two sons, George (Ohakune) and Henry (South Beach), one brother, Thomas (Wellington), and two sisters, Mrs A. O’Neill (Dunollie) and Mrs E. Edwards (Howick) . The funeral will take place on Monday.
