£2000 Salaries May Be Paid To Principals Of University Colleges
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. ■■ The salaries to be paid to the academic heads of colleges were referred to at a meeting of the Auckland University College Council last night when the president, Mr W. H. Cocker, said the. Government, was now prepared to pay a salary of £2OOO to college principals if the circumstances warranted it. He added that there was a doubt about what was meant by the qualification “if the circumstances warranted it. The subject would be discussed at the standing committee of the conference of the colleges on March 28.
