WOMAN KILLED WHEN CAR PLUNGES INTO RIVER
(P.A.) WANGANUI, March 16. One woman was killed and another injured when the motor-car in which they were travelling from Parikmo to Wanganui early on Sunday morning left the road on a bad corner, ana plunged down a bank into the Wanganui river. The other occupants of the car escaped with cuts and abrasions but the body of the woman had not been recovered late to-day. It was impossible to establish whether it was still in the car, which is in 15 feet ol water. The victims were:— Killed Mrs N. R. Wiig, 26, employed as a housekeeper. Injured Mrs D. McGonagle, Dune Vale Wanganui, cuts, other injuries, and severe shock, condition not serious.
