difficulties of parts PUBLICATIONS (Rec. 11.30 a.m.) PARIS, Feb. 12. The Government has refused the demand of the French Newspaper Typographers’ Union for a 25 per cent, increase in wages. The union, in making the demand, threatened to strike on February 14. Paris newspapers have been produced under difficulties since the newspaper workers, except, the literary staffs and printers, struck yesterday. This strike has now spread, to the provinces. Editors are carrying their own copy and running their own messages. The executives are doing some of the work of the publishers assistants.
