CEASE-FIRE ORDER

BLOODLESS STALEMATE IN INDONESIA (Rec. 1.15 p.m.) BATAVIA, February 12. Sutan Sjahrir announced that the •Indonesian Republican Government would issue a general cease-fire order throughout Java and Sumatra on February 15. Other Indonesian sources said the cease-fire would mark the beginning of the establishment of a bloodless stalemate, which the Republicans will be prepared to continue until the Dutch are willing unreservedly to sign the Cheribon agreement. Sjahrir said he would writ formally to the Commission-General saying that the Republican Cabinet rejected the Dutch invitation to sign the agreement as interpreted by the Minister for Overseas Territories (Mr. Jonkman).
