The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day;— Situation: There is a depression north-east of the North Island and an anti-cyclone west of Southland. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Moderate to variable winds: weather fine and mild. Further outlook: Fair. i LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.—Barometer, 30.06 inches (1018 millibars); thermometer, 61; wind, east (strong breeze); sky, blue and cloudy; bar, moderate sea; rainfall to yesterday, 0.02 inches; to this morning, 0.16 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 6.51 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 2611.
