Mike Jacobs III.

Mike Jacobs, regarded as the greatest promoter is boxing history, has suffered a cerebral haemorrhage, and his condition is grave. He rose to almost absolute power in the boxing world largely on his exclusive contract with Joe Louis, which he secured after the death of Tex Rickard. After Louis became world champion, Jacobs took control of all Madison Square Garden boxing shows. By 1941 he controlled all the titles from heavyweight to light-weight.—New York, Dec, 4.
