Report of 10-Year Pact Denied
(Rec. 2 p,m.) LONDON, Dec. .2, A report by the London Daily Worker that Britain and the United States are negotiating for a 10-year military pact, ’is officially denied in both London and Washington. The War Office, referring to the report, said: “No official announcement has been made concerning a military pact between Britain and the United States.”
The Daily Worker said: “A War Office spokesman officially stated that the pact would operate as soon as Mr. A. V. Alexander takes office as Defence Minister.”
The Washington denial was issued by the State Department.
