Prospect of New Factory
Yesterday a businessman visited Christchurch with the object of purchasing 25 acres of land for a factory i site, where he proposed to spend * £1,000,000 on a building and equip- 1 ment to weave cotton, the Minister of ■ Industries and Commerce. (Mr Sul- : livan) announced at the New Zea- 1 land Industries Fair in that city last J evening. If negotiations were satis- - factory, it was probable that the factory would employ from 500 to J 1000 people. Subsequently it was - learned from Mr. Sullivan that the ' company was the Cotton Textile :
Corporation of New Zealand, whose project was detailed yestetrday.
