MADE TN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. THE T. & G. MUTUAL LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETY. LIMITED in rcferenc'e 1o a statement made recently in the House to the effect that the Society was. amongst others, a company with shareholders, wishes to announce that as its name indicates, the Society is purely mutual,, the whole of the surplus being divisible amongst policyholders in the Ordinary and Industrial Departments who constitute the members of the So T Ciety. The Australian Temperance and General Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited (Incorporated in Victoria, 1876) is. registered under Part 3 of the Companies Act of Victoria as a Company Limited by guarantee, the liability of the members to contribute io the assets of the Society on a winding up being limited to £1 each. This explains the inclusion in the name of the word “Limited.” ■ As indicated above THERE ARE NO SHARES OR SHAREHOLDERS, and the whole of the assets and surpluses belong to the members. — P.B.A. .
