NATIONAL PARTY
WESTLAND ELECTORATE HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Westland electorate of the National Party, held at Greymouth last evening, was well attended. Delegates from Ross, Hokitika, Rotomanu, and Greymouth were present. The election of officers for the 1946-47 period resulted as follows: — Chairman, Mr. G. Gillespie; auditor, Mr. F. Congreve; electorate executive committee, members of the Greymouth branch committee, plus one representative each from outlying branches and three from Hokitika; 'delegates to the division, Messrs. E. F. Chivers and G. Gillespie, with power to substitute and co-opt. It was decided that the appointment of the finance and publicity committees be left to the incoming executive. It was resolved to ask all women’s branches to appoint delegates to the electoral executive. A committee consisting of Messrs. G. Gillespie, A. L. McKay, and the official candidate, was appointed a planning committee for the utilisation of the services of the organiser, Mr. D. Mcßeth. Mr. E. F. Chivers was appointed an ex officio member of all committees.
