After a long discussion on food rationing, the N.Z.R.S.A. conference yesterday decided that the Government be requested to institute further compulsory rationing immediately in order to provide as much food as possible for export consistent with national health requirements, and that the Association’s executive committee consult with the authorities with a view to overcoming any difficulties. The Dominion vice president, Mr. C. O. Bell, said that millions were starving and sacrifices were necessary. If they were going ta make sacrifices they should be universal. The people had had an opportunity to do something voluntarily, but had not taken it and therefore there was need for compulsion.
