RIWANGA HEADMASTER APPOINTED FOR SCHOOL
Advice of the appointment of Mr. Eric McDonald Todd, M.A., at present headmaster of the Kaiapoi school and formerly of Linwood and Lyttelton, as headmaster of the Runanga School, was received at a meeting of the school committee from the Canterbury Education Board.. There were present at the meeting Mr. R. J. Armstrong (chairman), Mrs. W. Wright,. ' Mrs. R. Barker, and Messrs. C. Kennedy, F. Oakley, the Rev. W. S. Brettell, and Mr. J. Duggan (secretary). The Education Board advised, in response to the committee’s request, that in future where staff changes were to be made, the head teacher, as well as the committee, would be advised.
The board also forwarded details of the forthcoming meeting of householders to elect a new committee. It ■was stated that, through the average attendance dropping below. 200, there .would be seven members on the committee in future, instead of nine. MINIATURE RIFLES.
