LIMITED CONTRIBUTION FROM RUSSIA

(Rec. 1 p.m.) PRAGUE, April 17. Russia can offer Czechoslovakia only 30,000 tons of wheat to fill in the gap of 120,000 tons created by the failure of UNRRA to meet the requirements, said the Czechoslovakian Minister for Foreign Trade (Mr. Hubert Tipka) on his return from a mission to Moscow. Mr. Tipka said Mr. Stalin informed Czechoslovakia that the request came ’unexpectedly and after Russia had already made available wheat, to France, Poland, Jugoslavia and Rumania.
