WAR AID FOR RUSSIA
OVER £400,000,000 WORTH OF GOODS £ WHAT BRITAIN SUPPUED (Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, April 16. The Prime Minister, Mr. Attlee, stated in the House of Commons that between October, 1941, and March, 1946, Britain sent Russia 5218 tanks, and 7411 aircraft, the latter including 3129 from America. The total value of the military supplies to Russia was £308,000,000 plus about £120,000,000 worth of raw materials, foodstuffs, machinery, plant, medical supplies and hospital equipment. Mr. T. C. Skeffington-Lodge (Labour) asked: Will the Prime Minister arrange for this information to be incorporated in the regular 8.8. C. broadc'ast t to Russia to enable our Allies to develop a better perspective in which to judge the relative merits of the contributions of those who contributed to victory?. Mr. Attlee replied: I would like to consider the suggestion. It seems good. ■
