COMMUNISTS WIN

BALLOT BY SYDNEY CLERKS’ UNION . SYDNEY, March 21.The long duel between the Com-munist-controlled executive of the Clerks’ Union and the group of members which sought its dismissal ended to-day, when the result of a ballot was announced. It revealed the main body of clerks to be overwhelmingly in favour of the executive. Before the ballot could be held, the dissident members sought a ruling of the Full Bench of the Industrial Commission on the legality of the ballot papers issued. Of a total of over 4000 who voted, less than 10 per cent, voted against the executive. Meanwhile, there is a petition from more than 1000 of the clerks asking for another ballot, one presented in less ambiguous terms.
