WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
DOBSON MEETING
The annual meeting of the Dobson Women’s Institute was held in the school. Mrs. Batey presided over a good attendance. The meeting opened with the institute song and Mrs. Duggan read the aspirations. Mrs. H. Peters and Mrs. E. Peters were elected to attend the federation meeting in Greymouth, and Mrs. Batey and Mrs. G. Smith to attend the Dominion conference in Wellington. The following officers were elected: —Mrs. Batey (president), Mrs. H. Peters (treasurer), Mrs. Belief (secretary), Mesdames Pickering, Dunn, Duggan, E. Peters, G. Smith, Adams, Gibson Jnr., McCallum (committee),'. Mrs. Batey read a report on the year’s work and thanked ail members for their assistance. The monthly competitions, “Something New from Something Old” was won by Mrs. Mellet. The prize for most points for the year was won by Mrs. E. Peters with Mrs. Batey second. The “Wandering two Shillings” was won by Mrs. Collins. Supper was served by the retiring c'ommittee.
