BRIDGE COLLAPSE
ROME, December 21. Twenty-four workers were ’ killed and many injured when a bridge, at Rome collapsed, while two heavy lorries were passing across it. FRENCH RESOURCES (Rec. noon.) PARIS, Dec. .21,. Jean Monnet, former representative of France in Washington, has been appointed head of a committee on modernisation of equipment and plant which is making a complete inventory of France’s resources and the possibilities for reconstruction in the next six months.
