JOHANNESBURG RIOT
LARGE NUMBER INJURED. (Recd. 1 p.m. JOHANNESBURG, Sept. 18. Sixty people received hospital treatment after skirmishes between Government and Opposition supporters during the Opposition Nationalist Party “Victory” congress. Large forces of police prevented a major riot developing outside the city hall, where the congress was being held, when a crowd assembled to hear speakers from the Springbok Legion (soldiers’ organisation).
