REEFTON NOTES

REEFTON, May 8

Coal production at Reefton. mines for last week totalled 2313 tons. All mines worked the full week. Facial injuries and a broken nose were received by Mr. W. A. McElwee, of Reefton, when he was struck on the face while working stock. The wedding was solemnised recently by Rev. C. Tanner at St. James’ Church, Riccarton, of Jean, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Yellowlees of Reefton. and John Kenneth, elder son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Isaac Patterson of Reefton. The bride wore a white embossed silk cloque gown, cut on slimming lines, with heart-shaped neckline, and covered buttons down the front, to a low wa'istline with full circular skirt to form a train. The bridal veil was full length and of Brussells tulle, held with a coronet of orange blossom. An armlet of white lilies with blue cornflower and maiden hair was carried. Misses Ruth Yellowlees, sister of the bride and Freda Patterson sister of the bridegroom were the bridesmaids. They wore white georgette frocks shirred to a low waist line, and full skirts. Both wore shoulder length veils with hairsprays of carnations and maiden hair fern, and the bouquets were of carnations, lilies and blue cornflowers. Mr.- Alan Turner was best man and Mr. D. McVicar groomsman. Mr. and Mrs. J. K, Patterson will reside in Reefton.
