EX-SERVICEMEN’S CLAIMS
DUNEDIN PROTEST DUNEDIN, March 23. A protest against what is described as a growing tendency for nonservicemen to be appointed to important positions arising out of the war circumstances was recorded by the executive committee of the Dunedin Returned Services’ Associauor la<?t evening. The committee particularly criticised the recent appointment of Mr C. Morrison as secretary-treasurer of the Council of Relief Services Overseas. , ~ The following resolution war adopted: “That the Dunedin Returned Services’ Association is astounded at the growing sequence of appointments of non-servicemen to positions arising out of war circumstances, and that Dominion Headquarters be asked to make a vigorous protes. against the latest anointment of Mr Morrison as secretary-treasurer oi CORSO. The association lurthex asks headquarters to inquire whether such position was advertised or offered to the Rehabilitation Department for filling before the appointment of Mr Morrison was made.
