BALLROOM DANCING
[TO THE EDITOR.] Sir. —The generation of to-day apparently have not been taught or probably have forgotten their manners or politeness in dance rooms. A visit to any dance hall would find politeness and gracefulness non-exis-tent. The roughness that occurs at present probably would be tolerated on a football field. Dancers to-day appear to be selfish, for consideration to other partners is not shown by certain individuals judging by the excessive bumping and pushing that occurs. This chiefly is witnessed mostly in jazz dancing where you will find not two coudes doing the same steps alike. A‘word of advice also to the M’s.C. and dancing committee. It would be much more pleasant for the dancers generally should the M.C. in co-operation with the committee prevent the ladies and gentlemen who are not engaged in a dance from encroaching on the floor space. Yours ClC ~ “FANTASTIC.”
