COL. KNOX LEAVES £500,000

ESTATE FOR WIDOW NEW YORK, May 18. Col. Knox, Secretary of the United States Navy, who died on April 28, left an estate estimated by the executors at £500,000. His will is published to-day. The estate, including Col. Knox’s interest in the Chicago Daily News, of which he was the publisher, was left to his widow, Mrs. Annie Reid Knox. The executors were given discretion to dispose of the interest in the newspaper as may be “most desirable from the viewpoint of the residuary legatee (Mrs. Knox) and further from the viewpoint of insuring to the Chicago Daily News the continuation of its management, preserving its character and traditions.”
