Mr. C. G. Grubb, of Blenheim, commenced duty, to-day, at the Greymouth branch of the National Bank.-
Miss J. Musson, of Blake Street, Blaketown, .is a patient at Oranui Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment following an accident. -

Mr W. A. Dickson, Property Supervisor, State Advances Corporation, Greymouth, has resumed duty after sick leave. Mr R. G. Drummond, who has been on relieving duty at Greymouth, will leave this week on i eturn to Blenheim.

The death occurred suddenly in Hamilton on Saturday of Mrs M. McKenzie, a former West Coast resident, aged 42 years. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, a sister, Mrs H. E. Wylde (Greymouth, and two brothers, Jack Waitors (Hamilton) and George Walters (G/eymouih).
M i- s. F. A. Wicks, who will leave on Friday to reside in Christchurch, was larewelled by the congregation of Sa Palui’s Methodist Church at the conclusion of the service last evening. Rev. E. S. Hoddinott conveyed (he good wishes of the congregation, and 'on their behalf presented Mrs. Wicks with a wall mirror and two pyrex. dishes. She has also been farewelled bv the Senior and Junior Guilds and the' Fellowship Group of St. Paul’s
The death occurred on Saturda.y evening of Mrs Frances Yde, wife oi. Mr Samuel Yde, of Turiwhate. Deceased was a native of Ngakawau, .•■wed 55 vears, and had been in failing health for the past two years. She conducted the Otira Gorge Hotel with her husband for 10 years up to 1935, and for the past nine years had resided at Turiwhate. She is survived by her husband, and one daughter, Mrs R. Carter (Auckland), three sisters. Mesdames C. Roper (Coal Creek), A. Schumacher (Taipo), and W. Neame (Turiwhate) and her mother, Mrs L. Harris (Coal Creek). The funeral will take place at Katoro Cemetery to-morow.
The death took place early, this morning, at Blackball, of Mr Ernest George Schafer, after a lengthy illness.” Deceased was a native of Hanover, aged 72 years. He came !o Australia as a youth' and to Greymouth 35 years ago. For the past 33 years he had resided in Blackball, where i:e was employed as an engine-driver until his retirement 10 years ago. He was a member of the Blackball Malonic Lodge ,of which he was a Past Mastei, and he held office up to the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, three sons, George, Charles, and Allan, and three daughters, Mesdames J. Carroll (Kaitangata), and A. Murdoch, and Miss Dorothy Schafer (Blackball). The funeral will take place at Karoro Cemetery on Wednesday.
The death occurred at Hokitika, this morning alter an illness of eight months of Mr. William Duffy, a native of No Town, aged 67 years. Deceased resided in Greymouth and Boddytown nearly all his life. He was a painter by trade and for 15 months prior to his illness he was employed by the Grey Hospital Board. His wife predeceased him 19 years ago. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. R. James, Misses Lucy and Sheila Duffy (all of Greymouth) and Misses Madge and Ellen Duffy (Wellington), three sons, Patrick (New Plymouth), Philip (Greymouth) and Thomas (N Z.E.F., overseas); also five sisters, Mesdames M. Cooney (Auckland), M. McDonald (Stratford), L. Stohr (Wellington), T. McDonald (Stratford), and Miss Rita Duffy (Australia), and two brothers, Frank- (Martinborough) and Thomas (Australia).
The death occurred yesterday morning, after a lengthy illness, of Mi 1 William Ferguson, oi Cowper Street. Greymouth, a native of Duncom Scotland, aged 65 years. He went to sea as a youth and followed that occupation for many years. He was for some years jettyman for the Royal Marine Yacht Club on the Clyde, and at one time was a member c: the crew of one of Sir T. Lipton’s racing Shamrock yachts. He came to New Zealand in 1903 as oLiartermaster of the dredge, Rubi Seddon, and later brought the Greymouth Harbour Board’s dredge Mawhera, from Lyttelton to Greymouth, when it first arrived at Greymouth. Later, deceased worked as a watersider at Greg mouth. He was well known as a Scottish piper. He is survived by two sons, Ronald and lan, and one daughter, Mrs M. B. Charteris, and three grand-children, all of Greymouth. The funeral will take place at Karoro Cemetery tomorrow afternoon.
