N.Z.E.F. CASUALTIES.

WELLINGTON, June 12. The following N.Z.E.F. casualty list was issued to-night:— Killed in action: Cook, 2nd Lieut. George E., Rangihua; Cottingham, Temp-Sgt. Richard E., Wellington; Johnson, Pte. Leeland P., Levin; Lichtwark, Lce-Bombd. Ronald J., Raglan; Munro, Pte. Kenneth J., Auckland.

Killed on Active Service (result of an accident): —Backman, Pte. Reginald B„ Wellington. Died of Wounds: Hart, Temp. Cpt. George F., Christchurch: Pokau, Cpl. George W., New Plymouth; Wetini, Cpl. Tim, Teteko.

“ALL BLACK” HART KILLED

CHRISTCHURCH, June 12

A private cablegram to-day announced the death from wounds of Lieutenant G. F. Hart, All Black in six different seasons and one of the greatest wing three-quarters _ this country has seen. . In 1926 Hart joined the Christchurch Club and played as second live-eighth for a time but very soon he was out in his proper place on the wing, and two seasons later he had won a Canterbury cap. In 1930 he reached his full powers, having improved both in weight and pace. That season he played in the 'our tests against the touring British team and acquitted himself with distinction. In 1931 and 1932 he was capped for New Zealand again. He was also canped in 1934. Then he toured Groat Britain with the 1935 All Blacks and played in 19 of the matches, including three tests. He scored 33 points.' He was also a sprinter of considerable ability and held the 100 yards New Zealand title in the 193031 season. , T „ Hart's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.. B. Hart, reside in the Tauranga district. He leaves a widow, formerly Miss Maisie Harris, a son aged lour and a daughter aged two.
