OPERA HOUSE —Finally To-night: “Ridin’ Down the Canyon" and “Night for Crime." Friday: “Never Been Kissed” and “Silent Witness.”
Those gifted, up-and-coming young movie stars, Gloria Jean and Donald O'Connor, are again happily teamed in “Never Been Kissed,” the new romantic musical drama commencing at the Opera House to-morrow. In the story, which has for its central situation the hectic and constantly exciting romance between the principals, the youthful stars arc beset by many turbulent circumstances which also involve their elders in a series of dramatic misunderstandings. Music is the chief device in straightening things out for what is announced as a satisfactory and supremely happy climax. “ SILENT WITNESS." A tensely dramatic atmosphere pervades the underworld drama, “Silent Witness,” commencing at the Opera House to-morrow, and which mood is preserved to the final fade-out. Frank Albertson is seen as an attorney who matches wits with a mob of ruthless criminals who have committed a murder only to be himself convicted of the crime on trumped-up evidence. How he is finally cleared of the charge makes a novel and exciting picture.
