WEDDING

ANDERSON—GALLIGAN

The wedding took place recently at St. Patrick’s Churchj Greymouth, of Carmel Winifred, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Galligan, Stillwater, and Graham Daniel, youngest son of Mr and the late Mrs Anderson, of Kaiata. Rev. Father Holohan performed the ceremony and also celebrated Nuptial Mass, and Mr T. Hatch was soloist.

The bride was escorted by her father and wore a gown of cream sheer georgette over taffeta, with a fully gathered skirt falling from an unusually wide waist-band of silk Maltese lace. The bodice had a Vshaped neckline, touched with orange blossom and the long full sleeves were gathered to a wide wrist-band. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a topknot of cream velvet azaleas, and she carried a sheaf of roses and orange blossom.

The bride was attended by her three sisters, Mary, Clare and Betty. Mary and Betty were frocked alike in ice-blue Adonis satin, cut on fuly-gathered lines. The threepanelled bodies were trimmed with large motifs of beading, and the full skirts were joined to the bodices with long scalloped waistlines-. Clare’s frock of shell pink Adonis satin was cut on similar lines. All three attendants wore embroidered shoulder veils and carried bouquets of roses, irises and azaleas in pmk and blue tonings. Joan Moffitt was flower girl wearing shell pink satin trimmed with rosebuds. She wore a 80-peep bonnet of pink taffeta and carried a picture basket of pink azaleas. Mary Moffitt presented the bride with a lucky horse shoe as she left the church. Mr J. Faulkner was best man and Messrs B. Galligan (brother of the bride) and V. Norcliffe groomsmen. A reception was held at Harker’s, where Mrs Galligan received lhe guests wearing a black tailored costume with black accessories, a fur stole and a spray of red roses. Miss Anderson, sister of the bridegroom, wore a commander blue frock and coat with navy accessories. Mr and Mrs Anderson left for Queenstown, the bride wearing a black tailored chalk-striped costume, with black accessories and a fur coat.
