LANCASTER BOMBER
AT GREYMOUTH
The Lancaster bomber made three circuits of Greymouth yesterday in the course of its flight, and it was watched by thousands of residents. The plane came on to Greymouth after circling Hokitika, and after the Greymouth visit went on its way via Westport. The plane was brought down low over the town giving spectators a good view and some impression of its size and manoeuvrability. ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, June 14. The giant Lancaster bomber arrived over Auckland just before midday to-day. against a grey sky, accompanied by two Kittyhawks, which were dwarfed by her great size. The bombers circled over the city before landing at Whenuapai. The arrival was witnessed by tens of thousands of Aucklanders from streets, roads, houses and rooftops. Following the arrival, a procession in celebration of All Nations Days, paraded through the city. Included in the five thousand troops taking part were United States forces.
