IKAMATUA SPORTS.
The Ikamatua Sports Club were favoured by fine weather for their sports meeting on Saturday. There was a large attendance and all events went off to schedule due to the well organised efforts of the committees. Mr. Tibbles and his helpers deserve special mention for the way in which the chopping events were run. The following were the results:—l4 inch underhand: P. Coll (4secs) 1; B. Hale (ssec) 2; S. Bowen (llsec) 3_. 12 inch underhand, 2nd class: B. Hale (7sec) 1: P. Coll (6scc) 2; T. Climo (4secs) 3. J2 inch upright: H. Wilson (4sec) 1; J. Swarbrick (3sec) 2; W. Blackmon (4 sec) 3. Relay Chop: J. Mason, J. Thomas, B. J. Hale. 100 yards open: P. Malone 1, J. Knight 2, S. Gilman 3. 75 yards ladies: F. Curtain and P. Palmer dead heat 1, F. McDonald 3. High Jump: H. Gidley (4ft 9in) 1. Greasy Pig Race: Mens, J. Fitgerald. Boys, D. Sheldon. Sheep Guessing: L. Pedrazzi. Ladies’ Nail Driving: Miss J. Bannan. Stepping the Distance: Miss J. Mclnroe. Lucky Baby Show: Janice Thorn.
