Associated Gold Dredges.—For the week ended April 3, the company s dredge recovered 188 ounces from 88,500 yards in 361 dredging hours. BLACKWATER MINES Blackwater Mines: Development work carried out during March:— No. 14 level south backshunt north at 1295: Advanced 19 feet on reef averaging 19.66dwts over 27 inches. No. 15 level drive north: Advanced seven feet, of which the last two feet were on reef averaging 23.5dwts over 24 inches. No. 15 level drive south: Advanced 24 feet on reef averaging 18.01dwts over 34 inches. No. 15 level rise at 2070: Advanced 20 feet on reef averaging 18.61dwts over 27 inches. No. 15 level rise at 3005: Advanced 17 feet on reef averaging 20.20dwts over 25 inches. ALEXANDER MINES Gold returns for March: 120 tons of ore crushed for 38ozs. of melted gold, valued at £290. Cyanide department has not been cleaned up. In addition to the above, 2.j tons of concentrates were saved, valued at £6O.
Mine report for March:—Development: No. 6 level rise: This has advanced to a total of 34 feet above No. 6 level without hitting fault, and in view of the fact that the back of the rise is now higher than the drag in No. 6 intermediate magazine crosscut, work has been transferred to this location, and sinking on the fault plane commenced. No. 2 stope crosscut has been driven a total of 40 feet without revealing any further ore. Stoping and filling operations have been carried out as usual under No. 5 level and in the stope north of No. 2 rise. Tonnage for month: 136 tons hauled from mine.
