ARMY APPOINTMENTS.
WELLINGTON, April 1. The following appointments and promotions of officers on active service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Middle East are among those gazetted to-night:— New ' Zealand Artillery.—Major (temporary lieutenant-colonel) G. J. O. Stewart to be a lieutenant-colonel; Major W. D. Philp to be a lieutenantcolonel (temporary) while commanding a field regiment. New Zealand Infantry.—Major R. G. Webb to be a lieutenant-colonel (temporary) while commanding a battalion. New Zealand Medical Corps.— Major G. F. V. Anson to be a lieu-tenant-colonel (temporary). New Zealand Railways Construction and Maintenance Group.—Major R. T. Smith to be a lieutenant- colonel (temporary), while commanding the group. Commands and Staff.—Colonel (temporary brigadier) W. G. Gentry to be a brigadier. It is also announced that Major M. D. Harvey relinquishes his appointment as manager of the New Zealand Forces Club and is appointed second in command of an infantry brigade. The following appointments and promotions of officers on active service with the 2nd New Zealand expeditionary Force in the Pacific are among those gazetted to-night:— New Zealand Ordnance Corps.— Major M. S. Myers to be lieutenantcolonel.. It is also announced that Major S. S. H. Berkeley is appointed military secretary of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Pacific. Major D. A. Solomon is appointed deputy judge advocate-general and public relations officer. Major L. R. Cutforth is appointed deputy-assistant provost-marshal.
