PRESSURE ON FRANCE.
LONDON, April 25. There was considerable diplomatic activity in Vichy to-night. Marshal Petain had talks with the Soviet and Spanish Ambassadors, and later Admiral Darlan, the Vice-Premier, returned from Paris. A German spokesman in Paris said that now was the time for the French to restore M. Laval to office and dismiss those who were pro-British and reactionaries.
