CRICKET
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The West Coast Cricket Association’s Management Committee met last evening, there being present:— Messrs. J. Stokes (chairman), J. Mathews, J. Guy, E. Newton, E. Taylor, O. Morris and L. Lindley (secretary).
A motion of condolence passed with the relations of the late Mr. A. H. Greenwood, a former President of the Association. The treasurer stated that he had sent a wreath on behalf of the Association.
The Nelson Association advised that it might be able to send a team to the West Coast at Easter, but that the team would not be fully representative. —It was decided to advise the Nelson Association that Easter would be too late for the match. On the motion of the chairman and Mr. Guy, a protest from Brunner juniors against Marist Old Boys juniors for playing D. Knapp and H. de Freatus in a match against Brunner, was dismissed, for lack of prosecution. It was stated that no reply had been received from the Brunner Club to a letter from the Association, asking for fuller details.
The Technical School was granted permission for its first eleven to travel to Christchurch to play West Christchurch High School. ' The United Club’s application for permission to arrange two matches with a Mount Herbert (Christchurch) team at Greymouth during the Easter week-end was granted. -.The treasurer’s statement showing that there had been a loss of £2/14/8 on the season’s working was approved.
It was resolved that a combined Marist team play Waltham (Christchurch) at Greymouth on March 30.
FIXTURES. Fixtures for the week-end were arranged as follow: — Senior—Sunday:—Knock-out Cup Competition Final: Cobden v. United, 'Rec. No. 1, 1.30 p.m. Juniors —Saturday:—Final Junior Competition: Marist 0.8. v. Marist School, Rec., No. 1, 1.30 p.m.
