SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS Following are the results of the scholarship examinations conducted annually by the Mines Department among students attending schools of mines within New Zealand: — Mr. A. L. Titchener, of the Dunedin School of Mines, awarded a scholarship of an annual value of £3O. Miu T. Marshall, of the Waihi School of Mines, awarded a scholarship of an annual value of £5O. Mr. R. S. Prout, of the Thames School of Mines, awarded a' partial pass (four subjects). The scholarships are tenable for four years at the University of Otago and are of an annual value of £5O each to successful students who, while attending the university, are compelled to'reside away from their, homes, and of £3O each to successful students who are able to reside at home while attending the university. The students are, in addition, granted free tuition in the subjects in the curriculum of the Otago School of Mines.
