U.S.A. WOOL IMPORTS. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Received Novembei' 29, 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, November 28. The “Journal of Commerce’s” Boston correspondent reports that wool imports last week reached a new high level of 8,407,000 pounds weight,, a feature being 240,000 pounds of fine Australian wool. The return this week was 139.9 ounces from 85,044 yards in 134 hours 40 minutes.
MARTHA The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi), Ltd.:—“For the period ended November 16, comprising' 17 crushing days, 11,644 tons of ore were crushed for a result of 26640 z of fine gold and 24,5130 z. of fine silver. No. 8 level, Boxall winze: Of the next 20ft. 3ft is good grade ore. The north wall was not seen. Sinking is suspended pending investigation at ninth level. Note, the low output .for the period was due to labour trouble.”
RESERVE BANK Main movements in the return of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand for the week ending November 25 were an increase in demand liabilities to the banks of £885,097 and a decrease in those to the State of £465,586. Liabilities in currencies other than New Zealand dropped by £774,073. Sterling exchange decreased by £451,180. The note issue was lower by £119,658.
