Two hundred and fifty delegates of the suspended State Labour Party, yesterday formed a third Labour Party in New South Wales. It will be known as the “All the State of New South Wales” Labour Party. Simultaneously the Federal Executive of the Australian Labour Party has reconstituted the official State Labour Party, absorbing some of the original members of the State Executive, who have agreed to recognise the authority of the Federal Body. Mr. J. Lang’s group constitutes the third Labour faction in this State. WELCOME SHOWERS SYDNEY, August 18. The citizens of Sydney have been greatly heartened by repeated rain showers at the week-end, with the promise of a continuance to-morrow. Some rain has fallen in the Metropolitan water supply catchment area, but literally inches are needed to avoid a water famine. The position has never been so serious. The City Council is using salt water, drawn from the harbour to flush the streets. ROUTE MARCH SYDNEY, August 17. Two contingents of Australian infantrymen, marching from Ingleburn Camp, to Bathurst, a distance of 130 miles, have reached Katoomba. A third contingent began the long trek on Saturday. Altogether there are four thousand men on the road. The men are enjoying the experience, they being feted everywhere along the Blue Mountain road.
