ANNUAL RE-UNION. There was a good gathering of . members, and visitors, at the annual re-union of the Ikamatua branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, on I Saturday evening. Mr A. Mirfin pre--1 sided, and extended a welcome to the visitors, which included Captain A. R. Curtis, and Messrs C. E. Butcher, G.G.M., Mitchell, and H. Trouland, of Greymouth. Apologies for nonattendance were received from the Reefton and Runanga branches. During the evening annreoiatprl or-
chestral items were given by the i Golden Hill (Waiuta), whilst'Mr N. i Harrison led the gathering in community singing, and items were given by Messrs N. Harrison, S. Purton, G. Feary, L. Brooker, J. Fostei’ and M. Flynn. | Tributes were paid to the branch and the energetic efforts of the committee and its secretary (Mr J. Wylde) in having all returned men
in the district members, and fully financial. The following toast list was honoured: “The King”; “Fallen Comrades”; “N.Z.R.5.A.,” proposed by the chairman and responded to by Mr Butcher;. “Visiting Members,” pro- ! posed by Mr A. Sampson and responded to by Mr Mitchell; “Navy, Army and Air Force,”, proposed by Mr C. Mosley and responded to by Captain Curtis; “Members of the Echelons,” proposed by Mr H. Trouland and responded to by Corporal C. Petterson; “Fathers of Present Soldiers,” proposed by Mr G. Feary and responded to by Mr H. Bower; “The Orchestra,” proposed by Mr J. Wylde, and “The Nurse,” proposed by Mr L. Brooker.
