AIR-FORCE RECRUITS

EDUCATIONAL TRAINING. [PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, June 13. It is now considered desirable and necessary for every man, before he is drafted to the Air Force ground-train-ing school, to undergo preliminary educational training in mathematics and. science, said tne Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones), in announcing today an extension of the educational scheme. In place of the 20 classes at present operating, he said, more than 40 classes would operate as from the beginning of July. From now on, an endeavour would be made to get every man selected for the air-crew section of the Air Force into a class shortly after he was seen by the Selection Committee and the medical examination was complete. A further development of the scheme was the inclusion of a considerable amount of signal training in the preliminary educational' training. From July 1, some 61 signalling classes would be operating in 36 centres in the Dominion.
