RAINES v. BLOMFIELD [pee peess association.] AUCKLAND, May 6. A particularly lively professional wrestling contest was seen by a large attendance at the Town Hall between Sergeant-Major “Lofty” Blomfield, of the New Zealand Military Forces, and Dick Raines, of America. It ended in the final round when Raines was disqualified for throwing his opponent over the corner ropes on to the iron stanchion supporting the ring ropes. He had previously performed this action with the result that one of the stanchions was bent, and when he repeated it he" was promptly disqualified. Before this round each man had obtained a fall. KATAN v. LITTLE WOLF WELLINGTON, May 6. Comedy relieved hard, rough wrestling in a professional bout between John Katan and Chief Little Wolf at the Wellington Town Hall to-night. Katan won on points with the falls even. Katan scored in the fourth round with a Japanese toehold, -which is his specialty, and Little Wolf, in the sixth witli the Indian death-lock. Throughput the bout Little Wolf’s lively showmanship entertained the crowd at times making the match a burlesque rather than a serious one.
