MOTORIST FINED
A PERSISTENT OFFENDER

HAMILTON,. February 21. A fine of £2O was imposed on Albert George Harrison, farmhand, .wljp was charged before Mn,• S. X. Patterson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Coiirt at Hamilton to-day, -with failing to - have "a driver’s license. ' ‘
The case arose out of an incident in which Harrison was stopped /by Traffic Inspector A. E. Hodgson, oil the Main Road near Ngaruawajiia. It was stated by the inspector that defendant had his license cancelled in New Plymouth, but since, then had twice been convicted for driving.. .a,, car without one., ; ' ’ Harrison/'who did not appear,.faced,., charges "of'driving without 'due .care, failing to possess a license, and of hav-" ‘ ing no warrant of fitness for the car. On f . the latter two charges, he ..-.was., fined £1 and £-2”respe.ctively; while he was also prevented from obtaining a driving license before-19.42. • r; lii evidence, Inspector a Hodgson said that gassed through Ngaruawahia, singing and -waving his , arms about to .attract attention. ■ cense had been cancelled for six J months, for reckless driving in NW - Plymouth. He was also convicted at, ' that time for failing to possess a war- ■ rant of fitness. The case in New Plymouth, said the inspector, resulted from defendant’s having driven down the main street, sitting on the back of the seat and steering with his* feet. When his driving license was cancell- . _ed, defendant frankly stated that he would "drive without it.
