OTTAWA, February 19.
The Defence Department stated that the total Canadians going ion active service, 90,000, includes military, naval, and air forces. Mr. Ralston said that Canada s war effort would cost, five hundred million dollars during’the coming fiscal year.

Mr. Jordan has sent a letter to Dr. Benes, stating that the New Zealand Government has recognised the Czech National Committee, in the same way as Britain. ‘
