WASHINGTON, February 11.

The Postmaster-General, Mr. Farley, has authorised the beginning .of his Presidential campaign in Massachusetts. This is interpreted in Republican circles as showing he is likely, later, to turn over his delegates to Mr.' Roosevelt. A' surprise was created when the name of the MayoF’of-New York, Mr. La Guardia, was entered in the Illinois Republican Party’s Presidential primaries, as opposing Messrs Dewey and Hamilton Fish.

NEW YORK, February 11. Mayor La Guardia has repudiated the entry that was made on his behalf in the Illinois Republican primaries. LABOUR FEDERATION.

WASHINGTON, February 11:

Mr. John Lewis, C. 1.0. leader, advocated . that the American Federation of Labour should absorb the Committee of Industrial Organisation by granting charters to all of the C. 1.0. Unions. He proposed that there be a joint convention of the C. 1.0. Federation at Washington on March 15 for" a :: vote on the question.

Mr. Lewis assured Mr. W. Green (President of ,the. Federation) that he (Lewis) would not be a candidate for any office.
