MAORI’S DEATH

WHANGAREI, February 12.
During a fight between a number of Maoris at Houhora, on Saturday, Mane Norman, 25, married, received severe injuries to the head, from which he died at his home at Ngataki early on Sunday morning. Two Maoris were arrested, and brought before the Court this morning.
MOTORISTS INJURED.
HASTINGS, February 11
Five received slight injuries when two motor-cars collided head-on in a heavy rainstorm on the main road 10 miles south of Hastings late on Saturday afternoon. The injured were Clement Leonard Maskey, William Alsop, Stewart Munro, K. Better, and Miss Katherin Williams. All suffered cuts about the head, abrasions, and shock. The men are all residents of Palmerston North. The vehicles were practically wrecked by the severe impact.
BOY’S INJURIES
WELLINGTON, February 11
An eight-year : old boy, Janies Thomas; of 2 Trii Street, was admitted to hospital yesterday, suffering from burns received when a cup of sulphuric acid was thrown in his face. The accident occurred in Vivian Street. The police are making investigations.
