The City Coroner, after hearing further evidence touching on the death of McDonald, the New Zealand journalist, whose skull was fractured (following an altercation allegedly with Kirkwood, an agent) returned a verdict that a prime facie case of homicide had been made out against Kirk wood, whom he committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter, leaving it to the jury to determine whether Kirkwood’s conduct was felonious or excusable. FRENCH COMMUNISTS. PARIS, October 11. The former Air Minister, M. Dean, is among the 39 communist Deputies arrested on a charge of activities detrimental to the State. H OLLYWO OD DIVO RCE S. Mr. Mabane told the Commons that the British-Australian air-mail was operating twice weekly, taking 11 days, compared with nine days before the war.

ARRESTS AT MARSEILLES MARSEILLES, October 11. The Maritime Police arrested six persons after inquiry into a shipping company, alleged to be attempting to sell ships to foreign agents. The company's vessels are reported to have been seized.
