The City Coroner, after hearing further evidence touching on the death of McDonald, the New Zealand journalist, whose skull was fractured (following an altercation allegedly with Kirkwood, an agent) returned a verdict that a prime facie case of homicide had been made out against Kirk wood, whom he committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter, leaving it to the jury to determine whether Kirkwood’s conduct was felonious or excusable. Mr. Mabane told the Commons that the British-Australian air-mail was operating twice weekly, taking 11 days, compared with nine days before the war.
ARRESTS AT MARSEILLES MARSEILLES, October 11. The Maritime Police arrested six persons after inquiry into a shipping company, alleged to be attempting to sell ships to foreign agents. The company's vessels are reported to have been seized.
