REEFTON NOTES

RED CROSS SOCIETY. „ [our own correspondent.] REEFTON, September 7. A public meeting held at the Council Chambers on Wednesday evening, to consider the formation of a branch of the Red Cross Society, at Reefton, was attended by about 36 women, and Messrs W. B. Auld, and R. A. Dickie. A number of apologies were received. A resolution was carried that a branch of the Red Cross Society; be formed in the Reefton-Ihangahua district. The annual subscription was fixed at 2/6. i Mrs. Yollowlees intimated that Dr. Wicken would conduct an ambulance class for men any evening but Wednesday, also that Mrs. Wicken would conduct a class any afternoon. Mrs. Yellowlees also stated that she had written to headquarters of the Society asking for information.

. The following officers were appointed: President, Mrs. Humphries; hon. treasurer, Mrs. R. hon. secretary, Miss S. T. Morris; committee: Mesdames S. R. Austin, M. Fennell, F. W. Archer, Morgan, Alan Wells, Wicken, D. McVicar, Sharpe, Captain Green, Miss King. The following were elected a general committee: Rev. Mr. Evans, Rev. Mr. Seaton, Mesdames Evans, Porter, W. B. Auld, Eklund, Fraser, Crompton, Hudson, E. T. Baird',' Pankhurst, Fielding, W. Nicholls, Misses Gibson, Cleaver, Thompson (2), Mesdames I. Patterson, Sharpe, J. Griffen, Archer, T. Patterson, A. Wells, Reynolds, Bennett, Humphries, Wicken, Morgan,. Lennon, Fennell, Morris, Arthur Wells, McVicar, Yellowlees, Sara, Millar, El-| lis, Allen, S. Hunt, Potter, Duff, McKenzie, Misses Captain Green, N. Flannigan, D. Farrel, S. Morris, K. Patterson, E. Williams, L. King, Wells, Yellowlees, Sara, Renwick, Bierwirth, Dr. Wicken, Messrs R. L.
