BRITAIN BLAMED FOR WAR. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] BERLIN, September 6. The German Government has published a White Paper on the diplomatic exchanges before the war. In this it is claimed that Herr Hitler at the outset accepted the British suggestion to negotiate direct with Poland, but no Polish negotiator arrived on the stipulated date, nor did Britain send any communication about her undertakings. The subsequent British memorandum did not show any real progress in dealing with the problem. The British Ambassador was then given a detailed otitline of [he Reich’S proposals, blit he' said that'he had not the power to negotiate opi behalf of Poland. The Reich Government waited vainly for two daysmen the arrival of a Polish negotiator, after which the proposals .that Germany published were declared 1 unacceptable by Poland by radio. ' \ . The White .Paper adds that Germany and France assented, but ’Britain rejected Signor proposal for an armistice and a conference. Thus the Italian peace initiative was frustrated by. Britain.
RADIO PROPAGANDA. LONDON, September 6. The German radio declares that the nation acclaims Herr Hitler’s courage in visiting the Eastern Frontier, and says it shows that he has assumed responsibility for his actions, and ds ready to share the risks of Jkis’ officers and men. The radio asks where are Messrs Churchill, Eden, Duff-Cooper, Amery, and other Fleet Street scribes who are lavishly spilling the blood of’millions on paper. \ It describes the British Ministry of Information as the “Weltleugerizentral” (world lies centre).’ GANDHI’S APPEAL TO HITLER. SIMLA, September 6.
